News story: Monday, 3 December 2018
As part of our membership, teams can leverage their success in our leagues to go on and represent internationally the British Baseball Federation (BBF). For example, our top division is the National Baseball League (NBL). We are glad to announce, the London Mets and runner-up Herts Falcons, of the NBL, have confirmed they have accepted their invitations to play in the CEB Federations Cup Qualifier in 2019, against the top teams in Europe.
The Federations Cup is an annual baseball tournament sponsored by Confederation European Baseball (CEB) and by invitation only. The CEB Qualifier tournament is for baseball leagues across Europe. The winners of the Qualifiers go on to represent their leagues in the Federations Cup tournament, next year. The inaugural season of the tournament was held in 2016 in Rouen, France, and Chartres, France.

Both the Mets and Herts will combine veterans and rookies to represent their teams. A good combination of youth and experienced players and good coaching are the keys for both teams to win the Cup. So book your tickets to Russia, and go on support the best teams of the BBF at the CEB Qualifiers. We expect a lot of great things from two of our top clubs and their players. London Mets Coach, Drew Spencer, went on to say, "The London Mets have been fortunate enough to have had a really good run of representing the BBF at the Federations Cup Qualifier over the past few years, including hosting it a couple of years ago. It is a really well-run competition, which we look forward to each season for both the on and off the field experience. The team we are bringing to Moscow will be one of our most competitive teams ever, demonstrating the quality of Baseball that this tournament demands. It’s also exciting to see the Herts Baseball Club getting prepared for their return to European competition. We are really pleased and excited for them. I’m sure it will be a great trip for everyone involved."
