BBF: PUBLIC ANNOUNCEMENT
Over the last several weeks, we (BBF) have been in a dispute with our development agency BaseballSoftballUK (BSUK) which we are 50% members, for the ownership for our domains (including www.britishbaseball.org), members data which resides in our site databases, website and the application which runs it (SportsEngine). Over the years, we have paid 100% for the fees on an annual basis, for our domains and service from the application which runs our site (SportsEngine). While BSUK believes otherwise i.e., that they are the rightful owners for the above, we can no longer wait.
BSUK has offered to sell us the 100% ownership and transfer the above items for £6000.
On the 20 April, 2018, we have agreed to pay BSUK £6000, to no longer perpetuate our dispute with them as our operations have been effected. Further, we agree to pay BSUK as part of our objectives to secure our assets, protect our members rights, adhere to our data protection obligations as required by new data protection laws and communicate freely through our website as the National Governing Body of our sport.
While we await BSUKs return (signed) of our transfer agreement to complete the handover of ownership to the above-disputed items, we have decided to launch this website www.britishbaseballfederation.com on an interim basis. The mentioned above, is so we can operate effectively as the National Governing Body of baseball and plan to comply with the data protection laws which are changing (GDPR) on the 25 May.
Once the transfer of the above is completed, we reserve the right to migrate back to our domain
While our members make the transition to this interim website www.britishbaseballfederation.com, please excuse any delay in updating our leagues standings and schedules.
Thank you for your patience and our apologies for any inconvenience caused during this regrettable dispute.
