News: Tues 22 May 2018

The British Baseball Federation (BBF) 2018 All-Star Game, takes place on Sunday, 27 May at Farnham Park. This year we will see the NBL All Stars vs the GB Baseball U23s All-Stars to showcase their talents. The MVP of the contest will receive a trophy and a customised glove from Rolin Europe.
The above event is free to attend. Festivities start at 12:00 and the game at 12:30 (times are approximate and are subject to change). The focus of this years All-Star game is on our National Team Programme (GB Baseball) which will be sending four different teams (U12, U15, U18, and U23) to the CEB European Tournaments starting in July through August. The BBF and GB Baseball receive no public funding. Sending four teams to Europe requires a lot of resources, logistics and funding. The BBF welcomes any donation (click button below) which will go towards GB Baseball to offset the costs of sending four teams to Europe.
Our goal is to raise £25,000. To-date the BBF has fund raised and through private donations reached 37% of its goal.

Managers

Liam Carroll - GB Baseball (U23s)

Drew Spencer - NBL All-Stars
By winning the National Baseball League Championships in 2017, London Mets, the NBL All-Star Manager is Drew Spencer who is the Mets Manager, and will take on GB Baseball Manager - Liam Carroll.
Both managers will select players for their respective side. For example, the NBL will have representation from all six teams which make up the NBL division:
-
Birmingham: Bandits
-
Essex: Arrows
-
Herts: Falcons
-
London: Capitals
-
London: Mets
-
Southampton: Mustangs
Each NBL club above will nominate players to the pool of players manager Drew Spencer will select to represent the NBL All-Stars.
This years All-Star game is taking place in May, which is earlier then previous years, considering the CEB European Tournaments which will include players from the NBL. Thus considering training, practise and trips to Europe, it was agreed earlier in the year to hold the All-Star game in May, so there would be limited conflict in preparing for the CEB Tournaments, said a spokesperson for the BBF.
The All-Star game will be a nine innings contest. The gates open at 9:30, so everyone is welcome to attend and throw down a blanket on the lawn, to watch batting practise and other preparations for the game.
The cafe - Home Plate at the grounds, will open their doors early, so hot food and drinks will be served all day.
At the end of the contest there will be an awards announcement, naming the MVP of the game.
Parking is free and on the grounds. It will be a fine day of baseball, baseball, and the showcase of our finest players from around the country.
There will be GB Baseball tops and hats available to own. Separately, raffles with all proceeds going to GB Baseball.
The park is an open field complex, so please bring your own lawn chair as there are limited bench space available.
Rolin Europe a seller of customised gloves and uniforms will also be on hand to offer their goods.
The assigned umpires for the day by the ABUA-GB: Thomas Haywood and Mike Shepard
