Great Britain Baseball’s Mission is to Inspire, Develop and Perform (GB Way). GB Baseball is our National Team Programme and is made up of U12, U15, U18, U23 and Seniors teams.  Baseball is an Olympic sport in 2020. We do not receive any public funding. We need your support as GB Baseball attempts to make it to the Olympics. Please donate by clicking the button below. 

This summer will be of the busiest ever for Great Britain Baseball, featuring the return of the U12 age group. 

U12 National Team 2018 Competitions 

  • What: European Championship Tournament (is qualification tournament for the U12 World Cup 2019).

  • When: 30th June to 6th July

  • Where: Budapest, Hungary

  • Eligibility: Ages 10, 11, 12  born in 2006, 2007, or 2008. 

Final roster will be selected in May.

Tryouts were held on Sunday 8th April from 10:00 to 12:00 at Farnham Park.

 

To be eligible you must be a British passport holder (valid for 90 days past the relevant tournament dates).

Champion / Qualification: 

The winner is European Champion Juveniles 2018. The teams finishing in 1st and 2nd place will be qualified for the 2019 WBSC U12

Baseball World Cup in Tainan/Taiwan.

Run difference rule (U12 / 7 inning games):

If after 5 (five) complete innings for the visiting team or 4ó innings for the home team, there is a 10( ten) runs score difference between the teams, the game is ended. If after 4 (four) complete innings for the visiting team or 3ó innings for the home team, there is a 15 (fifteen) runs score difference between the teams, the game is ended. If after 3 (three) complete innings for the visiting team or 2ó innings for the home team, there is a 20 (twenty) runs score difference between the teams, the game is

ended.

Extra inning rule: 

The Extra Inning Rule is mentioned in the Competition Rules and will commence at

the start of the 8th inning.

Tie Breaker Rule:

If teams are tied in the final ranking the CEB Tie breaker rule will apply. The calculations are mentioned in the Competition Rules and is in case of more than two teams also based upon runs scored and runs allowed. (TQB).

Suspended Games:

Exception to OBR 7.01 (e): If a game is called for any reason before it has become a regulation game, it shall always become a suspended game.

If a game scheduled for 7 innings (e.g. Juveniles U12) is called, it is a regulation game:

(1) If four innings have been completed;

(2) If the home team has scored more runs in three or three and a fraction

half-innings than the visiting team has scored in four completed half-innings;

(3) If the home team scores one or more runs in its half of the fourth inning to

tie the score.

Bats: 

In addition to the bats with a BPF of 1.15 or less, the bats which meet the new standard of USA Baseball for youth bats are allowed too (as they are even safer). These bats are marked with the USABaseball logo.
