Monday, 11 June 2018 reporting Will Muoio

In 2017, the London Mets won the BBF National Baseball League Championship, and the runner-up was the Southampton Mustangs. As a result of the above, both teams have qualified to take part in the Confederate of European Baseball (CEB) Federations Cup in 2018.

The Mets will be in Pool 1, located in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria as the third seed. They will play against teams from Bulgaria, Poland, Austria, Romania, Georgia and Serbia.

"The Mets are excited to be representing British Baseball in the CEB tournament. Not only is it an opportunity for our players to compete against top quality Baseball clubs, but it also gives our club the chance to meet and to build friendships with others in the European Baseball community. You realise that you are part of something much bigger when you get out and interact with other European clubs. I expect us to be a very tough team to beat, but win or lose, this is always a great experience for us." - Drew Spencer, London Mets Manager

"Can't wait to show everyone what we're made of in Bulgaria. It's going to be a great week.' - Jonathon Cramman, OF/1B London Mets

The Mustangs are the third seed in Pool 2, located in Rybnik, Poland. They face off against teams from Poland, Bulgaria, Sweden, Lithuania, Belarus and Switzerland.

Both teams were in the CEB 2016 and 2017 Tournaments. Last season, both teams finished with two wins and two losses.
